How I Use AI

AI Is Changing What a Lean Marketing Team Can Do. Here’s How I Put It to Work.

AI now puts work within reach of a lean team that used to cost too much or take too long. As your fractional CMO, I build it into your marketing, with a person at every gate.

What AI Makes Possible Now

Until recently, AI was an assistant: you asked a question and it drafted an answer. Today’s AI agents connect to the tools your marketing already runs on – ad accounts, analytics, your CRM, your website – and they can research, build a plan, and act on it. A lean marketing team can now do what used to require a whole department of full-time specialists, in a fraction of the time.

Research That Used to Take Weeks

A full read on a market, a set of competitors, or a list of prospects in an afternoon. Most firms your size never attempted that work because it cost too much and took too long.

Outreach Written for Each Prospect

Messages built on research into each firm and each person, not a template with a first name dropped in. No lean team could do that by hand at any volume.

Every Account Reviewed, Every Week

Spend, results, and tracking across every platform checked every week, so a problem surfaces in days, not at the end of the month.

Pages and Campaigns Built in Days

Landing pages, reports, automations, and campaign drafts in days rather than weeks, so your team can test more ideas without adding headcount.

Where AI Fits, and Where It Doesn’t

The leverage is real. So is the risk in a business built on trust.

AI only knows what’s written down about your business: your strategy, your buyer, and how you sound. Without that, it fills the gaps with guesses, and the result sounds like everyone else’s.

That’s why AI sits on top of MomentumOS™, the operating system I run your marketing on. It holds that context. Then the question is which work to give AI and which to keep human.

Forgiving Work

Drafting, research, analysis, and reporting. If AI’s first draft of a report is weak, it costs ten minutes of edits. AI carries much of this work, and your team gets the hours back for judgment calls.

Unforgiving Work

Anything that reaches a real prospect or client: outreach, follow-up, client communication. A mistake here doesn’t look like bad output. It looks like silence, and a potential client who no longer trusts you to serve their needs. A real person with the necessary expertise and judgment must review every piece before it goes out.

Always Human

Strategy, client relationships, leading the team, and answering for the number at the end of the quarter. That’s my job. AI makes the work faster. It doesn’t make the decisions.

What I’ve Built Before

Two examples from past engagements. Every business needs something different, so these show the approach, not a fixed package.

Demand Built From Zero, Inside the Rules

A marketing agency for psychiatry clinics, in a regulated healthcare market, had no outbound function and little room in paid search. I built an AI-assisted research system that found clinic owners in public sources and verified each one before any outreach.

By the end of the engagement, outbound was the company’s primary demand channel. The numbers: 10,590 emails sent, about a 1.9% reply rate, and 38 interested leads in Q2 2026. An AI design workflow also took the design team from a bottleneck to spare capacity. Read the case study.

Ads Written in the Buyer’s Words

At a national mastermind of 800+ members, an AI-assisted pass read each month’s applications. It pulled out the words people used to explain why they applied. The next round of ad copy started from those words, not from a brainstorm. A KPI scorecard traced every campaign through the pipeline to new members. Read the case study.

How Your Team Adopts It

I bring AI in one function at a time, starting where your team loses the most hours. I don’t drop a tool on your team and expect them to figure it out. Your team runs the workflows day to day. I set the standard, review the output, and lead the team every week as it grows in confidence and capability with AI.

The Guardrails: Sign-Off, Access, Data, and Compliance

Access and Data

I ask for the same access an in-house marketing leader would have: your ad accounts, analytics, and outreach tools, from day one.

AI makes a change only when I direct it. No agents run unattended. I spot-check changes in the platform itself, because a tool reporting success isn’t proof. Everything I build lives in your own accounts, so it stays with your business. I work with your data only in AI accounts that don’t train on it.

Sign-Off and Oversight

Nothing reaches a prospect or client until a person approves it. Before any AI-assisted work starts, the review process is agreed with your Chief Compliance Officer, or cleared with your CEO or COO if you don’t have one. Each quarter, we decide what to automate, what stays human, and what should change.

For Regulated Firms

Your Chief Compliance Officer has the final say. We build the review process together, and your CCO sees it before any AI-assisted work starts. AI drafts only from approved claims and disclosures. A person reviews every piece before it reaches compliance. There’s a record of everything published.

I’ve led marketing for a $1B wealth management team at a global wirehouse, under strict compliance rules.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer AI consulting as a separate service?

No. AI is part of how I lead and run your marketing as your fractional CMO. If you want someone to set up AI tools and leave, I’m not the right fit.

Will AI replace my marketing team?

No. I reshape your team around a clear strategy and lead it every week. AI lets a lean team do more. People keep the decisions and the client relationships.

What access do you need, and what happens to our data?

Full access to your marketing platforms from the start, the same as an in-house marketing leader. AI makes changes only when I direct it. Your data stays in AI accounts that don’t train on it. In regulated firms, your Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) sets what’s allowed.

How does this work under the SEC Marketing Rule?

Your Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and I build the review process before any AI-assisted work starts. AI drafts only from approved claims and disclosures. A person reviews every piece before it reaches compliance, and there’s a record of everything published. Your CCO makes the final calls.

Can’t we just use AI tools ourselves?

Yes. If your team isn’t using them yet, that’s one of the first things I’d change. But someone has to own the strategy the tools run on, decide what stays human, and answer for the result.

Which AI tools do you use?

The right tools depend on your systems and change every few months, so I don’t list them. The rules stay fixed. Your data stays in accounts that don’t train on it. In regulated firms, your CCO decides which tools are allowed.
